As mentioned , the drier system would consist of mixture of rotary dryer/heater along with standard IFD Series dryer (Standard pneumatic flash dryer).
The rotary dryer will be employed to reduce or minimise the liquid moisture content of the material by bringing it into direct contact with a heated gas in Rotary cylindrical tube.
In this system , the material is mixed with hot flue gas by rotating / lifted up by a series of internal paddle mounted on shaft of the dryer.
The material gets high enough to roll back , it falls back down to the bottom of the dryer, passing through the hot gas stream as it falls. The hot gas stream is made up of a mixture of air and combustion gases.
Immediately on entering the system, the due to the high temperature gradient available there would be instantaneous drying of surface moisture which would bring down the temperature of the hot gas to 200 - 250 oC. The removal of the remaining moisture would be completed in the dryer columns by direct heat transfer between the material and the hot gas which carries it.
The dryer slopes slightly so that the discharge end is lower than the material feed end in order to convey the Pre dried / heated Material then enters the Flash dryer system (IFD) under gravity.
RFD Series Dryer can for for instance like Sugarcane Bagasse , Napier Grass , Wood chips, Wood barks, Wood Shavings, Wood branches, Ply waste,, Mushroom Substrate, Ayurvedic herbs spent/ extract, Cashew husk, DDGS, DWGS, etc .
This dryer has the characteristics of large drying strength , short drying time (only 4 - 6 seconds) , low energy consumption, simple operation and a good product quality.
Suitable for any fine biomass (size < 12mm) and input moisture <60%
